Signal Hill Petroleum (SHP) is always dedicated to the development of our future leaders. One of the most important aspects of a leader is ethics. SHP recently hosted California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) students for a discussion about ethics. The presentation covered the history and day to day operations of SHP, what defines ethical leadership, and how politics affect the oil industry and in turn, how it affects our daily lives. The forum was in partnership with the Ukleja Center at CSULB, a program designed to the development of ethics and leadership skills for CSULB students.

Debra Russell, Director of Business Development and Community Relations for SHP, who is on the governing council for the Ukleja Center, gave the presentation to the students. One of her core involvement at SHP is community outreach, which is one of the three pillars the Ukleja Center stands for. As a result, it was the perfect opportunity for the students to come and learn firsthand how ethics and business intertwine.

Thank you to all the students and staff from CSULB who attended. This is truly an astonishing program and SHP is proud to be a contributing factor.
