SHP staff practicing evacuation drill for the Great California Shake Out event.

One of SHP’s motto’s is safety first. For that reason our company chose to participate in the state wide Great California Shake Out event.

“The Great California Shake Out is an annual opportunity to practice how to be safer during big earthquakes. The Shake Out has also been organized to encourage everyone to review and update emergency preparedness plans and supplies, and to secure space in order to prevent damage and injuries.”

Leading up to the drill, one of our geophysicist gave a presentation on earthquake awareness and safety. She provided information on how to be prepared for the office, car and home. After the presentation ended, upper management stressed the importance of having a plan and being safe.

At 10:16am, along with the rest of the state, SHP staff completed the “Drop! Cover! And Hold On!” drill, which ended with an evacuation to the parking lot staging area.
