The City of Signal Hill commemorated the 10th anniversary of Discovery Well Park with a special Mayor’s Cleanup Day designed to bring people together for an important cause. Amanda and I had the pleasure of representing Signal Hill Petroleum as we joined efforts with fellow residents, council members, and parents teaching their children important lessons about keeping the Earth clean and beautiful. With a cake donated by local bakery Rossmoor Pastries, coffee donated by Blackhouse, and cleaning supplies donated by the city, we kicked off the morning with a 2 hour cleanup trail and ended the event with a special celebration to remember the efforts of those who designed and pushed for the Discovery Well lot to become a public park 10 years ago.

The crowning point of the morning’s events, Mayor Mike Noll’s cake cutting ceremony, signified both the important accomplishment of beautifying the city we care so much about as well as the personal enrichment derived from fulfilling a truly selfless act.
