Last night was an absolute blast at the sponsor recognition night for the Signal Hill Community Foundation’s Annual “Concerts in the Park”! We were truly honored to have been named as the Headliner Sponsor for this phenomenal, free, summer series. A huge thank you to all who visited our booth and shared in on the excitement of the evening. The evening came alive with the incredible performance by “Jimmy’s Buffet”, a fantastic Jimmy Buffet cover band. Witnessing the community come together, enjoying each other’s company, and dancing to the music perfectly captures why we love supporting this event each year. We can’t wait for the upcoming concerts and look forward to seeing more of you out there!

SHP Community Relations Team at opening night of Movies in the Park 2023.

Summer has arrived, and with it comes the much-anticipated free summer series “Movies in the Park”. We are so proud to celebrate Signal Hill Petroleum, the main sponsor for this event for the community for an impressive 17 years. The opening night was held at Signal Hill Park and featured the movie Top Gun: Maverick. SHP also hosted a booth giving away free raffle tickets and footballs to the kids. The raffle prizes included a “fun in the sun” summer basket, a movie night basket, and a brand-new bike. “It was so great to see everyone come together and enjoy the festivities. Movies in the Park has allowed us to make an impact and strengthen our connection with the community,” said Alex Carnino, Signal Hill Petroleum’s Community Relations Manager.  As the summer series continues, we encourage everyone to take part and enjoy the free entertainment with their friends and family.

Signal Hill Petroleum Sparking Young Minds

Signal Hill, California (June 9th, 2023) – Signal Hill Petroleum, Inc. (SHP) a privately-owned energy company, was thrilled to participate in Alvarado Elementary’s, “Career Day” last Friday, June 2^nd, 2023. SHP had their Community Relations Team present to the students on all the different ways oil plays an important role in their everyday lives as well as what it means to be a good community neighbor. SHP also brought to the campus their new crane and vacuum truck where the operators of the vehicles were able to demonstrate to the kids how the vehicles work and what they are used for. It was great to see that both the students and the SHP employees were very interactive and engaged with each other.

“Signal Hill Petroleum’s attendance was much appreciated, and their contribution allowed the students to see the various career opportunities within their community,” said Geraldine Labrada, Alvarado Elementary PTO President. “This has made such a difference in our child’s life and the students wouldn’t stop talking about all the amazing things SHP had at our campus, it was a memorable day for all of us!”

As a company, we are always striving to grow our partnerships with our local community. We have been working on supporting our local schools, and more recently we partnered with Signal Hill Elementary’s PTA to bring a Family Movie Night to their campus. This was the first event that they have had that brought students and families together since the pandemic! It was amazing to see over 500 people come out to this awesome event. Not only did SHP support bringing in the movie, but our Community Relations Team also hosted a booth and handed out free SHP footballs and raffle tickets to everyone, for their chance to win a bike! Attendees also received free pizza and popcorn to enjoy while watching the movie “Sing 2!” We are proud to support programs that directly benefit our local schools and community.

Here at Signal Hill Petroleum, we take great pride in our strong partnerships with our local schools. In honor of Teacher Appreciation Day, we sponsored Alvarado Elementary’s Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. We had a delicious taco truck come and provide lunch to all the teachers and staff, and we even handed out personalized gifts to all the teachers and employees. It was so great to see the teachers and staff get rewarded for all their hard work throughout this past school year. We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with Alvarado Elementary and investing in our local community.
