Sean McDaniel, vice president of production and operations for Signal Hill Petroleum (SHP), has been named the 2017 Oilman of the Year. “This award is presented by the Oilman of the Year association,” and has been given annually for 37 years to “someone who has contributed significantly to the California Oil and Gas industry over an extended amount of time,” according to a statement from SHP. McDaniel, who has more than 25 years of industry experience, stated that he “always wanted to earn this award. It is a lifetime achievement award. It is an honor to be recognized by your peers, colleagues and industry vendors and partners.”

Sean McDaniel, vice president of Production and Operations for Signal Hill Petroleum (SHP), has received the 2017 Oilman of Year award from the Oilman of the Year Association, according to SHP.
McDaniel has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, according to SHP.

In 2004, he oversaw the design, building and construction of a cutting-edge, emissions-control electrical turbine generator for the company as the project manager. SHP was one of the first petroleum companies to implement the technology, which produces the cleanest electricity in the country, according to SHP.

“I have always wanted to earn this award,” McDaniel said. “It is a lifetime achievement award. It is such an honor to be recognized by your peers, colleagues and industry vendors and partners.”

Signal Hill Petroleum, Inc. (SHP) proudly announced Sean McDaniel, Vice President of Production and Operations, received the Oilman of Year award earlier this month. Due to his multi-faceted role, expertise and contributions to the industry, Mr. McDaniel was selected to be the 2017 Oilman of the Year. This award is presented by the Oilman of the Year Association, which has been giving this honor to industry legends for over the last 37 years.

The Oilman of the Year Association hosts an annual golf tournament where proceeds are given to the R.M. Pyles Boys Camp and the Make a Wish Foundation. Immediately following the golf tournament, participants gather for the award ceremony. The name of the recipient is kept confidential until the ceremony.

With more than 25 years of experience, Mr. McDaniel has a wealth of firsthand knowledge about the oil and gas industry. Mr. McDaniel has experience with virtually every job possible in the field and worked his way up to his current role as the Vice President of Production and Operations. In 2004, Mr. McDaniel oversaw the design, building and construction of a cutting-edge, emissions control electrical turbine generator for the company as the project manager. Signal Hill Petroleum was one of the first petroleum companies to implement this technology, which produces the cleanest electricity in the country. In addition to all the years and contributions Mr. McDaniel has made to the industry, one of the biggest reasons he received this award was due to his character, leadership, and the respect he has gained from his colleagues.

Signal Hill Petroleum Honored by City Planning Commission With Beautification Award

 June 16, 2014 – Signal Hill, CA –The Signal Hill Planning Commission presented its 1st Quarter Beautification Award to Signal Hill Petroleum at the June 10th Planning Commission meeting in recognition of the company’s sustainable approach to improving its well sites. Signal Hill Petroleum received the award for the landscape improvements at their well located at Willow Street and Walnut Avenue.

 

The Willow/Walnut well site was one of 150 properties beautified by Signal Hill Petroleum. The project consisted of the installation of a low-use water drip irrigation system, new fencing, a new electric gate and landscaping the area by trimming existing trees and planting more than 500 colorful plants and shrubs

 

“We are honored to receive this award and are committed to continuing to modify our look to keep pace with the continued growth of our community,” said Sean McDaniel, Vice President of Production and Operations at Signal Hill Petroleum. “We still have work to do and are committed to continue improving each of our well sites to compliment the beautiful city of Signal Hill. “

 

Over the past 3 years Signal Hill Petroleum has undertaken an extensive program to improve its individual well sites through various cosmetic upgrades including building new fences, landscaping, and painting. Going well beyond local & state regulations regarding property improvements, the company has completed over 150 site renovations.

 

The Planning Commission grants quarterly Beautification Awards to property owners who have recently invested time and effort into improving their property.
