At Signal Hill Petroleum, supporting our local schools and community is more than just a commitment, it’s a passion. We believe in making a meaningful impact, spreading joy, and bringing people together. That’s why we were thrilled to be part of Alvarado Elementary’s Color Run last Friday!

The Color Run is a fun and energetic fundraiser that brings students, teachers, and families together to promote school spirit, fitness, and community engagement. As students made their way through an exciting obstacle course, they were showered in bursts of colorful chalk, creating a lively and unforgettable experience. More than just a fun event, the Color Run helps raise essential funds to support school programs and resources. Signal Hill Petroleum was proud to be a founding sponsor, helping to launch this tradition and support the local school community.

As a proud sponsor, we were honored to help bring this exciting event to life. But we didn’t stop there, we wanted to make it even more memorable. To add an extra layer of excitement, we donated the Grand Prize, which was four tickets to Disneyland, plus parking. Seeing the pure joy on the face of the lucky winner was a truly unforgettable moment and a reminder of why we do what we do.

Geraldine Pedroza, PTO President, shared her gratitude: “We are incredibly grateful to Signal Hill Petroleum for your generous sponsorship of our Color Run event. Your support not only made the day vibrant and unforgettable but also helped us raise an amazing $12,000 for school activities, field trips, supplies, and more. Your dedication to our students, staff, and community makes a lasting difference, and we deeply appreciate everything you do to help us achieve our goals.”

Our involvement with Alvarado Elementary is just one of the many ways we invest in the schools and communities we serve. We believe that supporting education creates a brighter future for everyone, and we are committed to making a difference, whether through sponsorships, donations, partnerships, or hands-on participation.

We are proud to stand behind our local students and families, and we look forward to many more moments of giving back.

Signal Hill Community Foundation

Last night, Signal Hill Petroleum was honored to be recognized as the Headline Sponsor for the City of Signal Hill and Signal Hill Community Foundation’s Concerts in the Park Series. This recognition highlights our dedication to the community and our commitment to contributing to the vibrant life of Signal Hill.

The Concerts in the Park Series is a beloved tradition, bringing residents together for free evenings filled with music, fun, and connection. As a local company, we are proud to support these events and help make them possible. This recognition underscores the importance of community partnerships and the positive impact they have on all of us.

At Signal Hill Petroleum, we believe in giving back to the community that supports us. Sponsoring the Concerts in the Park Series is just one way we strive to enhance the quality of life in Signal Hill. From supporting local events to investing in community programs, we are dedicated to making Signal Hill a great place to live, work, and play.

Thank you to the City of Signal Hill and the Signal Hill Community Foundation for this recognition. We look forward to continuing our work together to bring amazing events and programs to our community.

Mark your calendars and don’t miss out on the concerts in the park on Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at Signal Hill Park. Let’s make this series the best one yet! We can’t wait to see you there.

SHP Community Relations Team Members Lauren Roberts, Melissa Lynch and Alex Carnino with Christina Gutierrez, Program Coordinator at Lydia House

Last December, Lydia House at Long Beach Rescue Mission faced a devastating fire right before Christmas. The impact was compounded by extensive smoke damage, forcing them to evacuate the shelter and temporarily relocate to a motel, adding to the challenges they already endured during this difficult time. Upon hearing about the heartbreaking news in the Long Beach Press-Telegram, Signal Hill Petroleum’s dedicated team wasted no time in finding ways our company could make a positive impact for Lydia House. Our Community Relations team worked closely with the Lydia House employees to assess their needs.

Just last week, we had the privilege of donating essential clothing items. We were right there on-site, personally delivering the donations as it marked the first day the women could move back into their homes. Community support is ingrained in our mission, and we’re committed to making a positive impact.

Lydia House still needs assistance, and you can make a difference too! Contact them at (562) 591-1292 to contribute or learn about other ways to support.  Let’s unite and showcase the strength of our community!

Signal Hill Petroleum, Inc., (SHPI) worked with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC News) on their upcoming feature on Urban Oil Operations in Los Angeles County.

SHP showed the BBC our operations for the interview hosted by journalist Sophie Long. Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of SHP, Dave Slater, answered Long’s questions regarding why it is important to continue to produce oil in California rather than overseas. Slater discussed that with California’s strict regulations, oil and gas production is done safely and efficiently with zero emissions.

Tune in later this month to hear more about the future of oil!

The highly anticipated Mother’s Market & Kitchen is set to open in Signal Hill. We hope that everyone is as excited about the opening as we are! The official date has not been set, but the store’s goal is to be opened by the end of February 2018.

Mother’s Market will be replacing the former Fresh & Easy building located on the corner of Cherry Ave and Crescent Heights. We are proud to be bringing a fresh market to our amazing city. This business will be the first business to open as a part of our bigger development project, Heritage Square.
