A New Era of Oil and Gas

This past Wednesday, an organization called The Young Professionals at the Petroleum Club held a panel discussion regarding energy in politics. SHP employees had the opportunity to attend and hear from Sebastian Ridley-Thomas Assemblymember District 54, Chad Mayes Republican Leader of the State Assembly, Steve Layston President of E&B Natural Resources, and Mathew Klink partner in EK,Sunkin, Klink & Bai.

The Young Professionals is a unique networking organization consisting of talented and active professionals in the beginning of their careers. This group is specifically tailored towards the oil and gas industry. Members are able to benefit from networking opportunities with high profile executives in the California oil industry and with California’s political leaders.

Due to the results of the November election, there will be a lot of changes that will directly affect our industry such as who will have the power of policy making in the oil and gas sector.

With the wide variety of representatives on this panel such as republicans, democrats, and California business leaders, we were able to understand their different perspectives of what the future may look like and how it will affect the oil industry.
