As Arthur Ashe wisely stated, “From what we get, we can make a living; what we give, however, makes a life.”  I was honored to participate the other evening in dropping off gifts to the homes of underprivileged families in the City of Signal Hill.  We drove by caravan with a lieutenant, police officer , volunteers of the Signal Hill Police Department, and Santa Claus.  Santa Claus was loaded up in the back seat of a police car.  Tenants of the surrounding apartments were coming out to observe as we arrived with lights on, gifts in hand, and Santa Claus in full attire.  Santa Claus would knock on each door and greet each family with a hearty, “Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas.”

Each family expressed their appreciation in special different ways.  Some wanted pictures with Santa and others shook hands and expressed thankfulness.  I will never forget the faces of the families lit up with joy and gratitude.  It is a pleasure to work for a company that remembers to give back to the Community not just around Christmas time, but all year around.  Signal Hill Petroleum, Inc. had the privilege of purchasing gifts for fifteen deserving children this year.  It was a heartwarming evening in which lasting memories were made.  On behalf of Signal Hill Petroleum, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
