Signal Hill Petroleum is excited to welcome its newest tenant, Applebee’s, to the Signal Hill Gateway Shopping Center. The restaurant officially opened their doors for business on Monday October 14, 2013. Prior to opening, restaurant management hosted a preview evening, dubbed “The Very Important Neighbors Event, “on October 12, 2013. This event gave local residents and city officials an opportunity to sample menu items while also giving the restaurant staff a full day of “hands on” training.
Joseph Abraham, the restaurant’s General Manager, reported that several hundred people attended the event and they all appeared to have enjoyed themselves. With a fresh menu, a full bar, multiple television screens and an amazing view of the ocean, it isn’t surprising that Applebee’s has been welcomed into the community with open arms.
People in attendance included Signal Hill’s Mayor, Michael J. Noll, Vice Mayor Ed Wilson, along with several other City Council members including Larry Forester and Lori Woods. The entire City Planning Commission, Tom Benson, Shannon Murphy, Devon Austin, Rose Richard and Jane Fallon, as well as Deputy City Manager, Charlie Honeycutt, the Community Development Director Scott Charney, the Economic Development Manager, Elise McCaleb, the President of the Signal Hill Chamber of Commerce, Terry Rogers.
Applebee’s, located at 899 E. Spring St. in Signal Hill is open 7 days a week starting at 11 am. Whether you are watching your waist line or hoping for a tasty treat, the menu has something for everyone.
