April 22, 2013

By: Amanda

This past Thursday, April 18th Signal Hill Petroleum was invited by the City of Signal Hill’s Parks and Recreation Department to attend The California Parks and Recreation Society Awards and Installation Banquet for District 10. The City of Signal Hill nominated our company to receive a Volunteer Award for our efforts in supporting Parks and Rec programs throughout Signal Hill.

On behalf of Signal Hill Petroleum,  VP Dave Slater, Renee Bradley and I received the award. We were escorted by the Mayor of Signal Hill Mike Knoll. It was a lovely night and we were so thankful to the City of Signal Hill’s Parks and Recreation Department for recognizing us with this award!

Statement for awards program from The City of Signal Hill:

Signal Hill Petroleum exemplifies the spirit of community partnership.  Through generous donations of time and money, Signal Hill Petroleum has allowed the City of Signal Hill to offer a wide variety of events and activities to the residents of Signal Hill including Movies in the Park, Concerts in the Park, Youth Sports, the Annual Eggstravaganza, the Annual Halloween Carnival, our Annual Holiday Outreach program and much, much more.  The employees of Signal Hill Petroleum are always the first to sign up as volunteers for City events and can be counted on to provide support needed.  Last year, Signal Hill Petroleum also partnered with the Community Services Department and a local school to provide 5th grade students an opportunity to participate in a service learning project that included the cleaning up of a blighted vacant lot in the city.  The City is truly blessed to have the unwavering support of this incredible organization.
