June 22, 2012Signal Hill Petroleum Sponsors Seventh Year of Long Beach Movies in the Park
SIGNAL HILL — (Signal Tribune) — 06/22/12 — Local Independent energy producer Signal Hill Petroleum will sponsor its seventh year of Long Beach Movies in the Park, the summer-long event that provides 30 days of movies at 28 Long Beach parks from June through August. The series will kick off Monday, June 25 at Signal Hill Park, 2175 Cherry Ave., with a showing of Happy Feet 2. The summer-movie finale will be Moneyball, starring Brad Pitt, which will be shown at Blair Field Park, 4700 Deukmejian Dr., on Friday, Aug. 31. Moneyball was partly filmed at Blair Field Park, so attendees will have the opportunity to watch the movie in the stadium where the moview was filmed.
The movie line-up will also include Happy Feet 2, The Adventures of Tintin, Kung Fu Panda II, Spy Kids: All the Time in the World, The Muppets, The Smurfs, Mars Needs Moms, Cars 2, Puss in Boots and Dolphin Tale.
The sponsorship is part of a partnership between Signal Hill Petroleum and the City of Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine. Signal Hill Petroleum will be sponsoring the program through 2015.
